We are beginning large-scale distribution of workunits from LIGO and GEO's fifth science run S5. We have finished generating the remaining S4 workunits, and expect that the processing of these S4 workunits will be completed during the next two to three weeks.

We have begun general distribution of new and faster applications for Linux and Windows computers. Computers which are already running Einstein@Home will automatically download these, so no action is needed by project participants.

Today we passed the 50% complete point on our first S5 search! We estimate that all the work for this first S5 search will have been sent out by about February 10th 2007. Also, the LIGO Scientific Collaboration has recently completed its review of our S3 search, and approved distribution of the final results, which will be posted here in the next day or two.

今天S5的进度已经过半了！预计到明年2月10日左右所有S5的任务包将全部分发出去。另外，LSC最近已经完成了对S3结果（貌似应该是S4吧？）的复查，最终结果将在近几天发布。

The data mirror at the Albert Einstein Institute in Germany will be down for part of the day starting at ~7:30 UTC. E@H participants do not need make any configuration changes to BOINC because your client will automatically find another mirror.

The Albert Einstein Institute (MPG) will be hosting a party/event for Einstein@Home participants on Monday 18 December 2006 at 19:00. Everyone is invited! This will take place at the Institute's headquarters, which is south of Berlin (Golm bei Potsdam). For more information please see this announcement.

After more than 150 days of trouble-free operation, one of the project's five validator instances malfunctioned and marked about 20,000 results as invalid or validate error. The validator has been restarted and is now functioning correctly. The project is granting credits for all results that were affected in this way. For more details please see this message board thread.

At 04:53 UTC on November 24, a critical file server failed.
We hope to have this repaired and working by 07:00 UTC November 25.
This is our first project downtime in more than 160 days.
More information will be posted here as we have it.
If you are new to the project, please come back here in a day or two!
If you are already participating in Einstein@Home, there is no need for any action on your part.  Please just be patient.

The file server is working again.  Before restarting Einstein@Home we want to check the file systems for consistency and completeness.  This will probably take about six hours (there are several TB of files).  So we are still on track to be back up and operating by 07:00 UTC November 25.
However if the file system check takes longer than expected or additional problems turn up, this may take somewhat longer.

The Einstein@Home project was offline for approximately 24 hours from ~6:00 Nov 24 to ~6:00 Nov 25 UTC. The problems resulted from a fileserver failure.

Einstein@Home will be offline until further notice.

Two disks have failed in the main file server.  This server uses a raid6 array so we cannot afford any to lose any more disks.  The project will remain offline until the raid array has time to rebuild.

More news will be posted here as it becomes available.

Einstein@Home将要停机一段时间，恢复时间未知。

主文件服务器的两块硬盘挂了。这个服务器使用raid6阵列，所以我们不能再失去任何一块硬盘。该项目保持将停机，直到raid阵列重建完毕。

一有新的消息我会通知大家。

译者注：个人建议广大E@Her暂时转到基因比对（GC@WCG@BOINC）项目。因为该项目的计算量和E@H比较类似，很好算。

The raid array should finish rebuilding at about 15:00 UTC but the project will be kept offline to upgrade some hardware in the fileserver that should increase the reliability.  We will try to have E@H running again by 22:00 UTC.

The Einstein@Home project was offline again from ~19:00 Dec 7 to ~01:00 Dec 9 UTC. The project was shutdown as a precaution while a raid array was rebuilding in the fileserver. During the downtime the fileserver was upgraded to help prevent future failures of this kind.
