今晚23:00至00:00(世界协调时UTC)进行网络维护
今晚将对数据中心进行一些工作,大约从23:00开始,到00:00(世界协调时UTC)结束。这次维护只会影响到www.primegrid.com而不会影响到prpnet.primegrid.com,因为它在另一个数据中心里。
这段时间里,有可能会发生短时的丢包以及等待时间增加等现象。
我们为此可能对您造成的不便表示歉意。

结果验证器暂时关闭
我门为了调查验证过程中的一些异常关闭了验证器。这可能需要几个小时,但用上个一到两天也不是不可能。
这段时间里,“等待验证”的任务包会增加,已完成的任务会保持“挂起(pending)“状态

我为这次给各位造成的不便道歉




PrimeGrid, Validator temporarily shut down

I've shut down the validator while we investigate some anomalies with the validation process.

It's conceivable this could take a day or two, but it probably will only be a few hours.

While the validator is disabled, the "Workunits waiting for validation" number will continue to climb, and completed tasks will remain in the "pending" state.

I apologize for any inconvenience this may cause.

2013.06.11  日日墙日倒了(屁啦!
由于wwww(什么玩意儿。。)的GPU版本出了个问题,所以在解决这问题之前,wall-sun-sun PRPNet 服务器将停止服务。我们尽量在几天内搞定。

2013.06.16:计算时间格外长的SR5任务可能是素数,所以别放弃这种包!
如果您发现有某个SR5任务运行的时间比以往长很~多很多,或者在进度达到100后又退回到0的话,别终止它,因为这预示着你有可能要找到素数了!
对以5为基的黎瑟尔数(型如 k*5^n-1的数)的检验过程中,若首次检验发现它可能是素数,责须对其进行二次检验,二次检验时间需要三倍于首次检验的时间。




2013-06-16: PrimeGrid, Long Duration SR5 Tasks May Be Prime
... so don't abort them!
If you notice that one of your SR5 tasks is running a LOT longer than usual, or even that it went back to 0% after reaching 100% done, DO NOT ABORT IT. You may have found a prime!
The test for base 5 Riesel numbers (i.e., of the form k*5^n-1) need to perform a second test if the first test indicates that the number may be prime, and the second test takes three times as long as the first test.
SR5 primes can be discussed here.

2013.07.01:这是项目成果。。数学名词和项目自己的词,看不大懂。。于是。。。

2013-07-01: PrimeGrid, Fermat Divisor!
On 10 March 2013 17:07:02 UTC, PrimeGrid's Proth Prime Search project found a prime Fermat divisor:

183*2^1747660+1 Divides F(1747656)

The prime is 526,101 digits long and entered Chris Caldwell's The Largest Known Primes Database ranked 6th for prime Fermat divisors and 263rd overall.
The discovery was made by Bart van Rooijen of the Netherlands using LLR to complete the primality test. Bart van Rooijen is a member of the Dutch Power Cows team.

The prime was verified on 10 March 2013 by Aaron Everett of the United States using LLR to complete the primality test. Aaron Everett is a member of the Team USA team.
Due to a reporting error, the announcement of this find was missed back in March.

2013-07-01: PrimeGrid, Fermat Divisor!

On 18 June 2013 16:51:36 UTC, PrimeGrid's Proth Prime Search project found a prime Fermat divisor:

2145*2^1099064+1 Divides F(1099061)

The prime is 330,855 digits long and entered Chris Caldwell's The Largest Known Primes Database ranked 10th for prime Fermat divisors and 2629th overall.

The discovery was made by Sai Yik Tang (tomakey) of Malaysia using an Intel(R) Core(TM) i5-2400 CPU @ 3.10GHz with 4GB RAM running Microsoft Windows 7 Enterprise. This computer took about 8 minutes to complete the primality test using LLR.

The prime was verified on 21 June 2013 1:43:48 UTC by Timothy Hitch (Tim) using an Intel(R) Core(TM)2 Duo CPU T8300 @ 2.40GHz with 4 GB RAM running Microsoft Windows 7 Ultimate. This computer took about 33 minutes to complete the primality test using LLR.

2013-07-01: PrimeGrid,费马因子

在3月10号,PrimeGrid的Proth Prime Search(PPS)子项目发现了一个费马素因子:

183*2^1747660+1整除F(1747656)=2^(2^1747656)-1

这个素数有526101位,在最大已知素数表中排第263,在费马素因子中排第六。这个素数是由荷兰的Bart van Rooijen用LLR发现的,他是Dutch Power Cows队的成员。

我已经发布了GFN-short任务的AVX版本的Genefer计算程序。如果你正用CPU运行short GFN任务,并且你的CPU支持AVX的话,你现在就可以用上这个AVX版本了。

2013-07-30: PrimeGrid, Perseid Shower Challenge starting on 12 Aug 2013 18:00 UTC
The night sky can offer some wonderful sights, like distant stars and planets, the milkyway but also meteor showers. The Perseids are a prolific meteor shower associated with the comet Swift-Tuttle. Just like the star dust falling from the sky creating a good show, we'll hopefully be seeing candidates falling in similar fashion during the Perseid Shower Challenge on the Riesel Problem Sieve subproject. If you want to participate, please join us between 12 Aug 2013 18:00 UTC and end 14 Aug 2013 18:00 UTC.

2013-08-01: 数据库崩溃
大概在八月一日周四16:09UTC,我们遭受了一次无法修复的数据库崩溃,这还使BOINC的数据库受到了一定损失。我们没能修复数据库,也没能救出数据。
我们不得不使用昨晚的备份来恢复数据库。BOINC服务器大约在21:20恢复上线,所有数据在备份基本被删除的情况下完全恢复。

2013-08-01: PrimeGrid, PrimeGrid Database Crash
At around 1609 UTC on Thursday, August 1st, PrimeGrid suffered an unrecoverable database crash which corrupted the BOINC database. We were unable to repair the database, or salvage the data.
We had to restore the database from last night's backup. The BOINC server was brought back on line at approximately 2120 UTC, with everything after the backup (at 0800 UTC) essentially having been erased.
