Haha, good question. Now the fact is here in Australia, I think US/UK are the same, we call it high school.
This is to do with how the education system is run. In Australia we are garanteed 12 years of education so everyone can go to year 12 assuming they don't drop out or fail subjects consistantly. So there is no real reason to separate "middle school" and "senior high school" out.
Having said that, it is also true that in US there are junior and senior high school. And in Australia they also exist to a lesser extent in the cathlic/private school system.
So middle school is definitely a no-no. I would say junior/senior high school is more commonly used here. |
