Citizen Science Grid是由北达科他大学创建的分布式计算平台，目前已经合并了DNA@Home，SubsetSum@Home，Wildlife@Home三个原有的分布式计算项目，并且包含人工协作类部分。

DNA@Home
The goal of DNA@Home is to discover what regulates the genes in DNA. Ever notice that skin cells are different from a muscle cells, which are different from a bone cells, even though all these cells have every gene in your genome? That's because not all genes are "on" all the time. Depending on the cell type and what the cell is trying to do at any given moment, only a subset of the genes are used, and the remainder are shut off. DNA@home uses statistical algorithms to unlock the key to this differential regulation, using your volunteered computers.
SubsetSum@Home
The Subset Sum problem is described as follows: given a set of positive integers S and a target sum t, is there a subset of S whose sum is t? It is one of the well-know, so-called "hard" problems in computing. It's actually a very simple problem computationally, and the computer program to solve it is not extremely complicated. What's hard about it is the running time – all known exact algorithms have running time that is proportional to an exponential function of the number of elements in the set (for worst-case instances of the problem).
Wildlife@Home
Wildlife@Home is citizen science project aimed at analyzing video gathered from various cameras recording wildlife. Currently the project is looking at video of sharp-tailed grouse, Tympanuchus phasianellus, and two federally protected species, interior least terns, Sternula antillarum, and piping plovers, Charadruis melodus to examine their nesting habits and ecology.
When our systems went down last thursday it looks like there was an issue mounting the storage that housed the imagery and video. They're working on this and hope to have a fix soon. Unfortunately this was done right before a holiday weekend, so the fix might not happen until monday.
2017-12-06: Citizen Science Grid, [all] data export issues?
Are you still experiencing data export issues? I know our IT staff was having some problems with hardware and the recent migration of where the virtual machine for citizen science grid is being housed. It looks like everything is running on my end but I just wanted to double check with everyone in case some export process got lost in the transition.
Hi Everyone -- got some really interesting results from the last round of searches and we submitted a publication on them last week. Will get a copy out to you soon once we find out if it was published! I've started up a new batch of searches so let me know if you have any issues with these.
The first 3 videos are old analog camera footage from south Georgia, and the last two videos are recently taken with the new digital camera technology we'll be using for the project in the lekking fields of the grouse in Lost Wood Wildlife Refuge in wester North Dakota.

Hi All,
It looks like the "team" table in the database had become corrupted and crashed. I repaired the database and it looks like all is working and I'm not seeing any errors on my end. Let me know if this fixed things for you.

This has caused the RAM requirement to bump to 1.5G, which in turn stops some of my clients from being able to download and run any tasks. These are 1gig cloud servers with 1gig of RAM, I have had to redirect some of them at another project.
Unfortunately, all the reviews I've had from recent publications say we need to move to larger datasets; so there's not anything I can do about the RAM requirements.
We had a couple issues with the server struggling to keep up with some of the previous workunits plus all the new work, and we're working on these. Work flow should at least be improving while we get these sorted out.
