Happy World Year of Physics 2005! What we've all been waiting for is
finally here.
You're receiving this message because you signed up to be on the list
at our website or at an APS, AAPT or other scientific meeting. This
newsletter, containing information about the upcoming World Year of Physics
2005, is distributed approximately every six weeks.
1. Sign-up Deadlines: January 31, 2005
If you're a middle school or high school teacher, the deadline to
sign-up for our classroom projects is January 31, 2005.
PhysicsQuest is our investigative hunt for middle school students.

2. International Launch Event in Paris: Physics for Tomorrow
"Physics for Tomorrow" will take place January 13-15 in Paris, and will
be open to the general public. It will aim to capture the attention of
the international press and media, so that events and celebrations
organized around the world throughout the year will attract public and

3. Physics Enlightens the World
In the World Year of Physics 2005 as many people as possible should get
the feeling to be part of a great physics community spanning the whole
globe. 揚hysics enlightens the world?is an endeavour to achieve just
that: A world-wide relay of light to commemorate the 50th anniversary of
Albert Einstein抯 death on April 18, 2005. For more information, click

4. Physics Across the World International Poster Competition
A poster competition for students aged 10 - 16 years to mark the World
Year of Physics in 2005. Students can create their own colourful
posters to show how physics applications makes their lives better and has a

5. Get Inside a Physicist's Head! Only on the Quantum Diaries Website.
Who travels the world in search of the unknown? A pirate? An
