The UCT : malariacontrol.net project is a test project in collaboration with MalariaControl.net in Switzerland that aims to test the correct operation of our server for future BOINC-based projects. MalariaControl.net is an application that makes use of network computing for stochastic modelling of the clinical epidemiology and natural history of Plasmodium falciparum malaria.

Due to the cooling unit failing on Friday, all machines in our server room were shutdown to prevent catastrophic failure. Please accept our sincerest apologies for the lost work units and project downtime.

Project re-opened until we get a few hundred more volunteers. Please note - we are still in test mode. Scheduled powerouts have also been abandoned for the short-term so now powerouts expected in the near future.

Project closed to new volunteers until futher notice.

Project will be offline on Friday's from 12:00 to 15:00 and Monday's from 20:00 to 23:00 Cape Town time due to powerouts.
