United Devices(简称UD)位于美国德克萨斯州奥斯汀市，是一家提供专业分布运算解决方案的公司。其分布运算解决方案的涉及范围甚广，包括生命科学、金融服务、工业制造、政府机构、科研机构、娱乐及媒体等等。
历史
在德克萨斯州的奥斯汀于1999年创立, United Devices 借助于来自distributed.net 和 SETI@home 的分布式计算技术开始运行，但现在只有少数来自这些组织的员工仍然在职。
在2001年4月， grid.org 开始正式作为公益的非盈利网站运行，希望以此来证明建立在互联网基础上的大型分布式计算的优势。
随后，2002年，在UD的帮助下，NTT Data 启动了一个类似的建立在互联网基础上、面向日本用户的分布式计算项目（cell computing）。2004年，IBM 和 United Devices 合作开发了World Community Grid项目作为另一个互联网分布式计算的示范。
2005年8月，United Devices 收购了总部在巴黎的 GridXpert 公司，并且将 Synergy 纳入其产品。
2006年，该公司发表关于正在进行产业转移的声明：由只为计算密集型应用软件使用分布式计算转向数据中心自动化和商业应用程序最优化。
由于对市场转移和重组的一定程度上的反应，grid.org 在完成它“证明建立在互联网基础上的大型分布式计算的优势”的任务后，于2007年4月27日关闭。
2007年9月17日，该公司宣布将与位于Lisle, Illinois 的Univa 合作，并且拥有了一个新名字：Univa UD 。结合后的公司将能够提供基于Globus Toolkit的开源解决方案，同时也会继续销售其现有的网格产品，并对现有用户提供支持。
